Common questions
What is a Level 2 ASP?
An Accredited Service Provider authorised to carry out certain types of work on the electricity network that a standard electrical licence does not cover — service connections and metering being the main ones.
Do I need this instead of a standard electrician?
Not instead of — alongside. Most jobs are standard electrical work. Level 2 ASP accreditation applies specifically to the network connection and metering side of things.
Can you supply accreditation certificates?
Yes — licence, insurance and accreditation details are available on request.
My service mains have come down. What now?
Call us, do not go near it, and keep everyone else away from it too. Treat a fallen or hanging line as live regardless of how it looks. This is one of the jobs Level 2 accreditation exists for, and it is covered by our 24/7 emergency service, so ring rather than send a form no matter what time it is.
My network operator says I need a Level 2 ASP. Why?
Because the work touches their network rather than your wiring. Anything on the connection between the street and your meter sits with the distributor, which in Sydney is Ausgrid or Endeavour Energy depending on where you are, and they will only let an accredited provider do it. Send us whatever they have put in writing and we will tell you what it actually means.
Do I need Level 2 work for solar or an EV charger?
Sometimes. The panels, the battery and the charger are standard electrical work, but upgrading the supply to carry them, or changing the metering so your export is measured properly, is Level 2.
