Common questions
Can you match the light to existing fittings?
Yes. We match colour temperature and beam angle so a new room does not read differently to the rest of the house.
Do you supply the fittings?
We can supply, or install fittings you have chosen. Either way we check they are suitable before install day.
Will the ceiling need patching?
For like-for-like replacements, rarely. Where holes change size we tell you up front.
Can you replace old halogen downlights with LED?
Yes, and it is one of the better value jobs in a house. Old halogens run genuinely hot, draw far more power for less light, and the older installations were not always kept clear of insulation the way they should have been. Swapping them out cuts the running cost and takes the heat out of the ceiling. We check what is above the ceiling while we are up there, not just what is below it.
Can you add dimmers or smart lighting?
Yes. The thing worth knowing is that dimmers and LEDs have to be matched: the wrong pairing gives you flicker, buzz, or a lamp that will not go below half. We pick the dimmer to suit the fitting rather than fitting whatever is in the van, which is why it works properly afterwards.
How much mess does a new light make?
Less than people expect, if it is planned. We work out the runs before we start cutting, use existing cavities and access where we can, and tell you up front where patching will be needed rather than discovering it with you standing there. Anything we cut, you know about beforehand.
